About the role

 

Kerry is one of the world’s main producers of enzymes and more specifically of lactase, with a global manufacturing footprint (Tianjin (China), Carrigaline (Ireland), and Tlalnepantla (Mexico) and RD&A footprint with most advanced technology and processing techniques in the industry in (Naas, Leipzig, Mexico).

 

This role is for a Senior Application Technologist – Dairy Applications, based at our Global Technology & Innovation Centre, Naas, Co Kildare, with a focus on liquid and fermented milk/dairy relevant applications at lab scale and industrial pilot levels. 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Building Strong customer relationships, delivering customer centric solutions and managing customer opportunities to drive Business growth
  • Working closely with the RD&A Technology teams and collaborating to validate specific technologies into Dairy & Dairy Alternative Applications including Milk, Cheese, Butter spreads and Margarine and Cream
  • Support our lactase enzyme business globally and help in the development and support of new business opportunities
  • Managing projects end to end whilst working cross-functionally with Commercial, RD&A, Strategy and Regulatory teams. This role requires strong project management skills with the ability to map out timelines and ensure they are met
  • Leading Application Innovation projects from Ideation stage through to launch. Working cross-functionally to understand the market/customer needs and how this can be addressed utilising Kerry solutions 
  • Collaborating with Global, regional, local applications teams, GTIC analytical Team, product management, business development, marketing, and Regulatory
  • Conducting lab & pilot plant & production and application trials for optimization of current lactase enzymes products  
  • Keeping up to date on scientific advancements 
     

Qualifications and skills

 

  • BSc in Food, Dairy Science or Bio/Chemistry preferred 
  • A strong understanding of scientific testing methods, data analysis and illustration 
  • Must be fluent in English. French and/or Arabic is a plus for the role
  • Previous experience in the Dairy Industry with strong technical capability
  • Experience and knowledge in relation to the use of enzyme technologies into Dairy Application
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Experience in evaluation of ingredients in food applications
  • Strong innovation mindset to develop novel solutions and create competitive advantage for Kerry
  • Driven to overcome challenges and develop timely solutions
  • Strong commercial acumen and market focus
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge sharing ability
  • Flexibility to travel
