About the role

 

To architect and lead the implementation of Kerry cloud infrastructure. An initial focus on maturing our approach to deployment and governance in Azure, will expand to transitioning to a multi-cloud approach. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic planning, and the ability to influence Kerry’s Digital leadership team, and other key stakeholders about the benefits and considerations of a multi-cloud environment. 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Leadership in Cloud Technologies 
    • Work with Kerry’s cloud service providers to ensure best practice design, cost control and operational responsibilities are well defined and controlled. Drive evolution of the existing cloud platforms to leverage best-practice over time. 
    • Engage with leadership, sharing a strategic vision you will have created in collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including the benefits and a roadmap for transitioning to a multi-cloud infrastructure. Multi-Cloud will be adopted at a point where a clear linkage to Kerry business needs exists. 
  • Azure Excellence and Multi-Cloud Strategy Development 
    • Lead Azure cloud initiatives, ensuring continued excellence in design, security, and operation while laying the groundwork for incorporating additional cloud services that align with organizational goals. Underpin all cloud ambitions with an agreed governance framework. 
    • Based on digital demands, plan the integration of other cloud platforms at an appropriate time, demonstrating how each can address those specific business needs and enhance the organization's agility and resilience. 
    • Ensure that, as Kerry expand its cloud platforms to our factory sites, opportunities to the business are communicated so our platforms can be exploited further. 
  • Architectural Frameworks and Cloud Governance 
    • Own cloud governance, using defined methodologies that drive repeated, high quality, outcomes. Ensure excellence in cloud solution design, deployment, and operations across Kerry cloud platforms. 
  • Operational Excellence and Innovation 
    • Ensure that all cloud solutions are underpinned by operational excellence, with scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure which can be handed to Kerry’s operational teams, through defined process, ensuring that support RACIs are in place which align to Kerry’s current operating model. 
    • Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of emerging cloud technologies and practices that can benefit Kerry. 
  • Knowledge Leadership and Team Development 
    • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure that wider team skills are evolving, while spotting potential blind spots, or areas for further upskilling. 
    • Adopted a mentoring approach to drive enhanced cloud skills and understanding of multi-cloud environments within the Kerry infrastructure team. 

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Education:  
    • L8 degree in an Information Technology area, or related field. 
    • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, with additional certifications in AWS, or other relevant cloud platforms viewed favourably. 
  • Experience:  
    • At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, including significant work with Azure and exposure to or planning for multi-cloud environments. A proven record on leading or facilitating cloud adoption. 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Expertise in Azure services, with a broad understanding of additional cloud platforms and how they can be integrated into a defined multi-cloud strategy. 
    • Strong skills in IaC, automation, CI/CD, and cloud security practices. 
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: 
    • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership and stakeholders. 
    • Experience in vendor management and a proven record of delivery through vendor partnerships. 
    • A proven history of mentoring and facilitating the upskilling of peers through knowledge sharing. 
    • Experience in strategic planning and presenting complex technical concepts in a clear, accessible manner to non-technical audiences.
