About the role

The successful candidate will manage the Brewing Ingredients technology portfolio into the global brewing / alcoholic beverage market..

Key responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the end use market (EUM) & sales organization to initiate customer projects.
• Manage and drive the project pipeline to deliver growth targets with existing and prospective customers.
• Work with commercial finance to:
o ensure budgeted BOP is achieved as well as having plans in place to deliver long term targets;
o manage strategic pricing decisions.
• Work with the EUM, RD&A, marketing and commercial sales teams to:
o identify and guide Brewing Ingredient innovation to address emerging trends requests
o build intelligence on industry trends - competitors, prices, customers, market size, etc.
o develop marketing collateral
o optimise the sustainability of our portfolio and how to bring sustainability benefits to customers
• Work with customers, sales and RD&A to clearly define and guide project progression to meet performance, cost, and timeline bringing projects to successful completion.
• Manage the progression of projects and new product introductions, coordinating with RD&A,  regulatory, supply chain, sales, etc. to ensure alignment and efficient progression.
• In conjunction with the wider Kerry team provide technical expertise supporting brewing ingredient related questions from customers and the sales teams.
• Defend any current Brewing Ingredient business “at risk”.
• Represent the brewing ingredients technology at internal meetings and undertake joint customer visits when required
• Use a consultative sales approach to increase customer interaction through success stories and clarify to customers the value offered by brewing ingredients

Qualifications and skills

• The ideal candidate will be someone who has a master’s degree in a Biotechnology/ Microbiology or Science with Biology / Biochemistry as a key discipline.  PhD in a relevant field is beneficial.
• He or she will have at least 2 years of experience in relevant food and beverage markets targeted in a Technical Service, Technical Sales or R&D roles.
• A strong, positive, inquisitive, goal focussed and dynamic character
• Good application knowledge preferably in the alcoholic beverage sector
• A general interest in food and a knowledge of manufacturing processes across a broad range of food and beverage markets
• Ability to work independently and learn about Kerry’s broad technical capabilities
• Good organizational and project management skill
• Capable of creating business strategy and building alignment within and across functions to achieve goals
• Good negotiation skills
• Ability to travel up to 30%
