About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee plant manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of maintenance activities. This role requires strong leadership skills to maintain high standards of productivity, safety, and quality. The supervisor will manage a team of maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring equipment functions optimally and compliance standards are met.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintenance Management: Manage and deliver the weekly maintenance work schedule, addressing urgent work as needed to support plant operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the technician team, working with the Reliability Engineer to enhance preventive maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Apply technical skills to resolve equipment problems causing production downtime.
  • Emergency Repair Reduction: Develop plans to minimize emergency repair work and maximize planned maintenance.
  • Team Development: Build effective teams, coach and develop direct reports, and ensure proper documentation of work performed.
  • On-Floor Presence: Spend significant time on the floor, removing roadblocks for technicians and auditing work to ensure standards are met.
  • System Management: Ensure timely and accurate entries in SAP for maintenance and COUPA, maintaining high levels of spares accuracy and equipment history.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with production and maintenance teams to understand and respond to customer needs.
  • Maintenance Library: Manage an updated maintenance library with plant drawings, equipment manuals, and compliance files.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities exceed health and safety standards.
  • Policy Adherence: Implement and adhere to all company policies and standards, ensuring compliance with regional, national, and local legislative requirements.

Qualifications and skills

  • Education: Degree highly preferred; Engineering Degree highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of people leadership required.
    • 5+ years of previous background in maintenance required.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent troubleshooting ability.
    • Knowledge of the food industry (Highly preferred).
    • Knowledgeable in maintenance best practices and CMMS systems.
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Proficient in interpreting CAD.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $75,602 to $111,475 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.  In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
