About the role

We’re currently recruiting a Process Technician to join our team here at Kerry, based from our site Taste & Nutrition site in Menstrie, Scotland!

Key responsibilities
  • Operation of pilot plant in accordance with pilot plan schedule
  • Monitor propagation runs to ensure proper execution of recipe using OPCON
  • Set up and conduct sample analysis within the pilot plant lab and ensure delivery of more complex samples to works lab
  • Inputting sample data into relevant files and reporting on run success/failures to stakeholders
  • Responsible for maintenance of pilot plant equipment and instruments:  Raising and managing IW21's or personally maintaining
  • Cleaning and sterilisation lab equipment and pilot plant facility to microbiological laboratory standards (Aseptic Standards)
  • Daily analysis of molasses plant samples
  • Management of substrate samples direct from suppliers
  • Order and inventory materials to maintain supplies
  • Prepare chemical solutions for processes following standardized formulas adhering to COSHH
  • Identify and suggest areas where improvements can be made. Participate fully and diligently in projects to support continuous improvement
  • Equipment calibrations and maintenance of calibration logs
  • Perform preventative maintenance of equipment such as vacuum pumps, pH probes, seals, hosing etc.
Qualifications and skills
  • Must be comfortable with lone working and must be self-motivated
  • Excellent communicator, able to liaise between different departments.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation capabilities. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of accountability for the outcome.
  • IT literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Confident practical engineering skills allowing you to maintain, adapt and optimise production equipment are essential
