About the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Process Engineer to join the Kerry Foods team in Menstrie

 

 

 

The Engineering team ensures that all plant and processes on site are fit and proper for the effective manufacture of safe yeast-based foodstuffs.

 

The Project Engineer is expected to contribute to delivery of an efficient, food-safe working environment, developing the existing plant with respect to Kerry Manufacturing Standards (KMS), whilst ensuring any new-build also conforms to these standards.

 

This is a dynamic role requiring flexibility.

 

The key responsibilities of this role are:

 

  • Delivering capital projects based around plant hygiene, sanitation, fabric and fittings

 

  • Delivering capital projects based around plant throughput and efficiencies

 

  • Troubleshooting plant and processes around site to improve manufacturing efficiency

 

  • Supporting the Process Engineering team

 

  • Improvement and development of project engineering procedures

 

  • Managing contractors and supporting safe systems of work (PTW, Confined Spaces, Working at Height)

 

  • Provision of support to the Engineering team as defined by the Project/Process Lead to support projects and routine Engineering group activities

Your profile:

 

  • You will have previous extensive and relevant Process Engineering experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

 

  • Knowledge of HACCP and hygienic engineering (EHEDG or 3A) is essential.

 

  • Engineering degree or similar is essential

 

  • The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the site requirements to implement new Kerry Manufacturing Standards, with particular attention to Food Safety and building condition. 

 

  • The candidate will be required to assist in sustaining these standards, whilst providing assistance in plant troubleshooting and optimisation.

 

  • In addition, the role will require engineering and management of debottlenecking/capacity projects to drive plant throughput and improve manufacturing efficiency.

 

  • A knowledge of food industry unit operations such as separation, evaporation, spray drying and packing systems is desirable, as is a knowledge of PLC control systems.

 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be required to ensure effective liaison both within the Engineering Team and with other relevant site personnel, for example production team leaders and Quality.
