About the role


Following the successful restructure of the Engineering function at our Menstrie Yeast production facility, we are now recruiting for two Facilities Technicians to ensure that facilities standards including, decor, fixtures & fittings and signage are maintained in line with the Facilities Management plan.  With a rich heritage dating back 275 years, the Menstrie site now produces thousands of tonnes of yeast products each year for a range of household brands across the global food and drinks industry. 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrates leadership in the area of Health & Safety for Engineering activities, promoting a strong safety culture at all times and complies to current QSHE and Kerry standards.
  • Ensures Kerry policies and standards are implemented and adhered to while ensuring regional, national and local legislative requirements are met by the site engineering function including external services/contractors.
  • Supports and Implements visual management and 5s as standard across the facilities, services and plant areas (signage, infrastructure and general grounds maintenance)
  • Diagnose simple faults and repairs domestic water & sanitation systems, fixtures and fittings
  • Observes, recognises and rectifies sub-standard conditions of building finishes, fixtures and fittings.
  • Support and execute the site KAMS and KMS excellence journey.
  • Completes basic plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating or ensures these areas are to a site standard as defined within the Facilities Management plan.
  • Delivers inductions and contract control for responsible area. Ensures all contractors are working within site rules within the responsible area.
  • Completes basic Asset Care and Compliance tasks within the Facilities and Services areas around CILR tasks.
  • Supports team reviews of planned maintenance activities within hard and soft services and identifies opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.
  • Supports Facilities and Services owned area audits and rectifies issues highlighted within an agreed timeline.
  • Supports and actively engages in all areas of contract control across the site for site contractors.
  • Inputs or reports on defects/symptoms of impending issues across facilities and infrastructure and provide CMMS data (SAP PM)
  • Plays an active role in continuously improving the business supporting events/activities within facilities and engineering owned areas.

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Experience within a facilities management role, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment. Food industry knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Experience and/or a vocational qualification in joinery, plumbing or similar trade
  • Advanced knowledge of planning, scheduling and prioritising assets and resources
  • Good knowledge of facilities compliance requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge or experience in the application of Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge or experience of Food Safety Standards is highly desirable.
