Located just 30 minutes east of Chicago, IL, our Melrose Park facility is part of the Meat division business where we produce batter blends, pastry blends, Japanese bread crumbs, and American bread crumb. What you'll do:

Primary Purpose: A successful Kerry Transportation Planner is responsible for aligning and monitoring outbound deliveries, to include small parcels, LTL, and TL carriers. They will ensure all materials are properly verified and are reflective of customer demands.

The Transportation Planner will maintain customer order accuracy through proper review processes including BOL, PRO #, materials and transfers to 3PLs. In this role, they will also assist the Warehouse in reviewing materials scheduled for outbound, to include labeling and qty.

Key responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

To be successful as the Transportation Planner, you should be able to critically assess and maintain BOL, packing slip, and COA accuracy and troubleshoot issues.

  • Ensure all shipments receive the proper documentation
  • Keep management and supervisors aware of product shortages in order to maintain accurate information
  • Practice customer service when interacting with other companies and clients and see to it all external parties receive a positive interaction with the company
  • Verify all outbound shipments to be accurate by comparing the customer order to physical materials and ensuring all goods are in acceptable condition
  • Work with other material handlers to ensure all shipments are handled promptly and properly
  • Timely and Safely complete responsibilities
  • Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
  • Responsible for answering CS, Warehouse, and Production inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Completing End of Day (EOD) activities to include Post Good Issue, review Blocked for Billing, etc.
  • Any other tasks or projects may be assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and skills

What you’ll need to be successful and safe:

 

Transportation Planner Requirements but not limited to:

  • Minimum 1-year experience (3 years preferred) Transportation experience as “Owner” of area
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
  • Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be beneficial
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, reach daily and as needed to perform all job functions
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Perform different job functions within the organizations warehouse department
  • Must be able to follow procedures, best practices and report unsafe and unprofessional behavior
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required
  • Other duties assigned by Management
