Located just outside of Chicago, our Melrose Park location is part of our Meat division and creates batter blends, pastry blends, and bread crumbs. What will you do?

  • Oversee the Plant's sanitation programs, processes, and systems to ensure that the plant performance meets and/or exceeds company-wide expectations.
  • Responsible for supervising all activities in the plant including weekend shifts. This includes the safety of all employees and contractors in the building.
  • Responsible for supervising, training, and directing the work of the sanitation staff. This also includes hiring, administering discipline and providing feedback to them.
  • Coordinate with the heads of Production and Quality to assure proper follow up on all customer and regulatory issues (complaints, audits, and requests for information).
  • Assure plant level preparedness for customer and regulatory inspections.
  • Lead, teach and motivate all plant employees in pursuit of sanitation excellence and plant safety.
  • Drive problem solving initiatives; utilize root cause analysis and preventative actions with respect to sanitation related issues.
  • Support and enforce cGMP's, food safety procedures and company policies.
  • Support production management in troubleshooting plant sanitation deficiencies and in identifying root cause and eliminating sanitation issues.
  • Responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and updating documents, forms, and logs in relation to cleaning/ sanitation functions.
  • Maintain and log on all sanitation on Master Cleaning Schedules.
  • Responsible for washing and cleaning of: walls, ceilings, inside and outside windows, equipment exteriors, carts, tables, chairs, stools, rest rooms, ceiling air vents, office areas, floors, and window blinds.
  • Manages the relationship with outside Pest Control and works with Quality to update logs and trend results.
  • Facilitate corrective actions related to pest prevention and sanitation.
  • Perform zonal inspections each week to cover the entire facility once per month searching for opportunities pertaining to sanitation and sanitary design.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sanitation supplies, including ordering and replenishing.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Minimum 5 years of sanitation experience with at least 3 of those years at a manager level.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing setting but open to pharma / supplements manufacturing as well.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • SAP and Kronos are a nice to have.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired.
  • Proactive, self starter attitude and capable of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Availability to work weekends occasionally and flex workings hours.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $89,175 to $134,984 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
