About the role
Are you passionate about driving commercial success in the BioPharma sector? Kerry BioPharma is seeking an Account Manager to execute our sales strategy and manage direct customer accounts within North America, with a focus on the East Coast. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with global colleagues, assess market opportunities, and deliver meaningful value to our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of customers’ objectives, technical processes, and strategic needs to drive significant value creation.
- Build and maintain strategic, cross-functional relationships within customer organizations, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Procurement, while fostering internal alignment within Kerry.
- Define and execute BioPharma strategy through market and application evaluation, focusing on key segments such as Biologics, Biosimilars, Vaccines, and Diagnostics.
- Maintain and grow existing business while developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities across current and prospective accounts.
- Provide technical support to customers, leveraging internal subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Actively strengthen long-term customer relationships to enhance trust, collaboration, and partnership value.
- Partner with commercial finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, pricing, and margin management.
- Support the development of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, legal documentation, and stocking agreements, in accordance with Kerry policies.
- Ensure all relevant processes and systems are followed, contributing to operational excellence and compliance.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Pharma/Biotech commercial sales or technical sales support, with a strong focus on direct customer interaction.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to analyze market and competitor trends and translate insights into actionable strategies that deliver customer value.
- Independence & Influence: Proven capability to independently develop and execute strategies, influence internal and external stakeholders, and drive business growth.
- Technical Background (Preferred): Prior hands-on experience in R&D, process manufacturing, operations, or quality is highly desirable.
- Domain Expertise: Solid technical and commercial knowledge of cell culture and microbial fermentation, upstream and downstream bioprocessing, and applications of protein hydrolysates, yeast extracts, enzymes, and their use in diagnostics and bioprocessing industries.
- Sales & Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of closing complex deals.
- Customer Focus: Willingness and enthusiasm to spend significant time with customers, building and nurturing relationships across multiple levels of the organization to achieve business goals.
- Digital Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is a plus.
- Travel: Must be able to commit to approximately 50% travel to meet with customers and attend relevant events.
The typical hiring range for this role is $91,404.00 to $138,357.75 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
