About the role

This role leads and supports various projects ranging in scope from plant process improvements to execution of capital projects at our Manitowoc WI Site. This position requires strong knowledge in project management, Lean manufacturing,  fundamental process  engineering,  and sanitary design for food manufacturing. This role will lead these projects from concept and initial fact finding through implementation and final handoff, while making people safety and food safety a top priority. As part of the North America Central Engineering core team, this key contributor will be a key technical contributor to project teams responsible for executing projects for the organization. 

What would you do?

  • Lead teams through application of continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing and six sigma to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Directly participate in the design, development, and creation of scope for engineering projects or the engineering work of the department to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs.
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Create project estimates and timelines for initial project consideration.
  • Lead the bid process, budgeting, and submission process for capital and operational projects.
  • Ensure all engineering work aligns with corporate engineering standards, including sanitary design, ergonomics, employee safety and food safety requirements.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar.
  •  3-5 years’ experience in Food or Chemical industries
  • Process design & improvement
  • New process & project management
  • Experience in cost saving projects
