Maintenance Manager

About the role


Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maximising plant availability and output, optimising costs, and managing capital engineering projects for a defined area within the site.


This role is based on site in Listowel.


Please note there are 2 available roles, and the successful candidate does not require an Engineering degree as long as they have another relevant craft qualification.



Key responsibilities


  • Manage a team of craftspeople & contractors (where required) to deliver area maintenance requirements in an efficient manner.
  • Manage Engineering budget to ensure target achievement.
  • Plan maintenance on a weekly, monthly, annual basis for overhaul and continuous operations using a computerised maintenance system
  • Continuous improvement of Safety, Environmental, Quality and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure plant compliance with customer & regulatory bodies.
  • Work with the wider operations team on capital projects ensuring they are timely, on budget and compliant. (These projects will range from small plant improvement project to larger capital installation projects).
  • Work closely with other Maintenance Managers to progress the site Engineering program.
  • Work closely with other functions within the manufacturing and maintenance functions.
  • Learn and understand processes to ensure that you are equipped to improve processes in the factory.


Qualifications and skills


  • A degree in mechanical, manufacturing or food process engineering or other relevant craft qualification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role – preferably in the food, pharma or manufacturing sector
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Proven Project Management experience, with a strong focus on Continuous Improvement
  • Proven People Management and Leadership skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels within the business.
