Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Lab Technician to join our Kerry Agribusiness Laboratory in Listowel site, Co. Kerry.

Your main duties as a Lab Technician will include analysing raw milk samples and reporting results through LIMS system.

This is seasonal role working days Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm (1st and last hour paid as overtime) with some weekend work on Saturday 7am to 2pm (around 1 weekend in 4) will be required and will be paid as overtime overtime rate.  

The site has onsite parking and canteen. It’s conveniently located close to N69 road and it’s 20 minutes by walk from the Listowel Town Centre.

What will I be doing?

• Report to Laboratory Manager
• Operation of LIMS
• Milk sample receipt
• Analysis of milk samples
• Record data and results neatly and with accuracy
• Ensure all safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required

What do I need to be successful?

• Qualification in a Scientific/Food discipline is required
• Some laboratory experience is advantageous
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new testing methods is essential
• Proven ability to work in a quality control function
• Ability to comply with policies and procedures
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative in a busy environment
• Strong ability to prioritise and multitask
• Good verbal and written communication
• Computer literateGood attention to detail
