About the role

This position will have overall accountability for the spend of €200M+ of ingredient, commodity, packaging and indirect materials and services spend. Reporting to the VP of Integrated Operations of SAP (South East Asia Pacific) and functionally to the VP of Procurement for APMEA, the Senior Procurement Manager - SEA will lead the Procurement Operations function for SEA, with the objective of leading a best-in-class team, capable of delivering value in an efficient and effective manner and supporting our growth strategy in this region. This position is primarily responsible for the day to day operational buying, ensure supply security team and talent management, commercial management, team performance management, supplier relationship management.

Key responsibilities

Sourcing and Supply

  • Procurement of raw material and indirect services required by the SEA especially local vendors in a timely, cost effective manner to meet both internal and external customer requirements
  • Collaborates with the regional procurement team to set appropriate risk management, coverage and procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging and indirects area, enabling the sourcing of key strategic materials/categories through the global and regional procurement team
  • Responsible for the quality of raw materials delivered to our factories and the effective and prompt resolution of any raw materials non-conformances and any Supplier Audit non-conformances
  • Raw material supply lead-time management to ensure customer OTIF is met.
  • Selection of best in class suppliers for raw materials and indirect materials and services for SEA, working with regional procurement team as appropriate.
  • Works in partnership with Integrated Operations (IO) functions (Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Engineering) to ensure all quality, costs and supply goals are met.
  • Lead the sustainability agenda for SEA through various global, regional and specific local programs to meet Kerry S\sustainability commitments


Talent management:

  • Determines team structure and acquires talent with a high level of capability
  • Manages and develops staff in a high-performance team
  • Ensuring clarity on roles and responsibility within the team to meet overall objectives

Commercial Management:

  • Drives costs reduction and profit improvement programmes on raw materials and Packaging by working closely with RD&A and the regional procurement team
  • Works with internal stakeholders across the functions to identify indirect materials and services cost reduction opportunities and compliance, in tandem with the regional procurement team and its strategies.  
  • Manages performance management / measurement:
  • Establishes Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurement objectives that align with the Kerry SEA business objectives as well as the procurement functional objectives
  • Monitors, tracks and manages team performance against KPI’s to ensure targets are met
  • Supplier relationship management and negotiations:
  • Develops and maintains key supplier relationships within local sourcing
  • Drives innovation from our supply base to help support both our cost reduction objectives as well as revenue growth objectives
  • Measures and reports supplier performance to drive improvement

Contract management:

  • Ensures we have adequate contractual coverage on raw materials and indirect spend
  • Reviews and approves indirect contracts up to spend limits and coaches team members on key legal/commercial contractual terms.

Qualifications and skills

The successful candidate will possess the following experience / skills:

  • Successful and good track record within the food manufacturing industry in procurement, supply chain or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years procurement / purchasing experience with an impressive track record of accomplishments and continuous improvements.
  • Flavours/Food/Food ingredients industry experience is preferred.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required
