About the role

This role will lead the people agenda for our foodservice (brands & chains business) alongside with being the employee champion for a significant portion of our people population based in Malaysia (¬250 pax). The role will partner with Functional & Site leadership to develop a culture of high-performance, delivery of our 5 year plan and the sustainable, profitable growth of our business. Enabling our leaders and ensuring we have the required capabilities, Behaviours and ways of working to deliver our growth plan.

 

To be successful in the role you will be proactive, solution-focused and deliver best practice, commercially astute people solutions.   As a key member of Foodservices Business teams and the respective Site Leadership the successful candidate will establish themselves as a trusted advisor & strategic partner and will role model collaboration and effective stakeholder management.

 

The Senior HRBP will be a key member of our SEA HR team, and will work alongside with the HRBPs, Centers of Excellence, Shared services and People Leaders to deliver outstanding employee experiences at every point in the employee life cycle.

 

The role reports to our HR Director - South Asia Pacific. You will be based in Kuala Lumpur and will be required to travel across our SEA sites with regular visits to our site in Johor Bahru.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Enable the organization by addressing talent needs and critical roles of today and the future by owning the initiatives to build a robust talent pipeline to sustain the future business. This will be achieved by a deep understanding of the business, active engagement with talent and appropriately addressing the gaps.
  • In-depth support to the business leaders on the annual talent & performance process to identify top talent in the business, by educating, engaging, and providing counsel to ensure clear understanding of the Kerry Talent Model and related processes.
  • Leveraging appropriately from Global and Regional programs and owning end to end bespoke solutions for specific individuals / business needs. Working collaboratively with the COEs, Commercial Excellence Team and suitably supporting which are relevant to enhancing employee on-boarding, functional learning and skills.
  • The role will partner with our Business GMs in driving initiatives that result in an aligned, engaged, cohesive and high performing team across our Foodservices Business (Brands & Chains) and Malaysia Site Leadership Team (Non-Manufacturing).
  • The role will be responsible for the Highest Quality of employee experience for the employee population supported across the Employee Life Cycle. This will be delivered by working collaboratively in a matrix with HR team members, our Global Business Center (Shared Services), our Centers of Excellence and Business Leaders.
  • The role will be responsible to ensure the execution of all People Processes required Regionally and Globally as per timelines and qualitative expectations. Ensuring timely and qualitative execution of Pay Planning, Talent & Succession with adequate leader enablement and employee communications. Ensuring every future team member of the Kerry Team has a robust onboarding and induction experience. 
  • The role will drive Employee Engagement in conjunction with the Business Leaders by designing and enabling the Engagement Plan. The role will be responsible to hold leaders to account on Delivery against Plan. The role will work in conjunction with the Leadership Team in driving Employee Engagement by being a key pillar for all relevant community and employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure that the Compensation, Benefits and Rewards offerings for the teams are market attractive/competitive and  aligned with Kerry’s overall goals and objectives whilst being locally meaningful.
  • Enhancing the People Manager Capabilities by proactively leveraging and enhancing existing Kerry Programs & toolkits (Inclusive Leader, Manager Effectiveness Change Management) 
  • Drive and support key organizational change and communication initiatives for the business, by listening and feeding back on employee pulse, evaluating change readiness and helping prepare, plan and sequence change such that it has the desired impacts

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum qualification) in Human Resources Management, Psychology or relevant. An appropriate professional people qualification CIPD, SPHR or PHR or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Experienced professional, with a minimum 10 years’ experience in a HR Business Partnering role that would include responsibility for managing change and senior stakeholders.
  • Deep HR knowledge and experience in managing complex escalations and decision-making, in an international fast-paced / matrix environment.
  • A good understanding of labour legislation and compliance (preferable in Malaysia).
  • Experience of leading and working with geographically-dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills. 
  • Proven ability to quickly engage, inspire and influence at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of complex People / HR transformation programmes.  
  • Learning agile, with proven ability to work with ambiguity; and maintain effectiveness during high-pressure times.  
  • Strong people skills including communication skills, listening and coaching. 
  • A digital first mindset, considers how digital can improve the HR function at Kerry.
