About the role

 

  • Work Location    : 1Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama)
  • Working Hour     : 12pm - 9pm 
  • Reporting Line    : Regulatory Manager - Europe

 

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage daily regulatory inquiries and information requests from both internal and external stakeholders concerning raw materials used within the European region. This position requires close collaboration with Regulatory Scientific Affairs, Category Technologists, Procurement, Quality, and Account Managers. It plays a crucial role in supporting business growth and providing a competitive advantage by ensuring that customer-facing information is accurate, consistent, and efficient—delivered right the first time. Additionally, the role is key in maintaining the accuracy of data related to the finished products we produce.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for efficiently supporting the execution of various Traded Goods and Raw Material requests in a timely manner.
  • Manage the approval process for raw material specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform administrative duties in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Ensure all raw materials meet policies, including allergen management and cross-contamination risk controls.
  • Highlight any errors/amend raw materials specifications being submitted by suppliers and make sure they are up to date with any relevant changes.
  • Challenge suppliers as needed and ensure that requests for information and food safety questions are addressed promptly within critical timelines.
  • Review and approve raw material specifications for legality and accuracy, ensuring they align with business and customer technical requirements.
  • Support site audits to ensure traceability of incoming raw materials.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation, including technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (RDA, QA, Operations, Procurement, and Commercial) and external partners.
  • Manage and achieve individual and departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and excellence initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications and skills

 

  • A degree or local equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the food industry, specifically in Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Production, or R&D.
  • Solid knowledge of the food industry.
  • Willingness to work European shift hours and provide support during public holidays. Flexibility and reliability are essential to ensure consistent support across time zones and during peak periods.
  • This is a desk-based role focused primarily on documentation management and customer relations via virtual platforms. Attention to detail in handling and maintaining documentation is crucial to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and effective communication.
