About the role

Import Export Specialist is responsible for the overall management of the export process for products exporting from the United Kingdom to the rest of the world, including obtaining customer and country specific documentation, the completion of SAP GTS and SAP ECC formalities, export compliance checks, engagement with freight forwarders and dispatching distribution depots. Have a good understanding of the requirements for the documentation and rules required for exporting to certain countries

Key responsibilities

 Day to day you will action requests received into a centrally managed shared inbox, you will review the requirement for export and generate SAP GTS Export Declaration Instruction Sheets. During the generation of this document, there may be a requirement to work with other Kerry functions to support in the generation of further documents such as Export Health Certificate for Products of Animal Origin, Composite Product Private Attestations and Phytosanitary Certificate request. Will be responsible for the engagement with local authorities or chambers to obtain COO and Health Certificates.

• Management of external stakeholders and communication to them is key to ensure a seamless Import / Export operation, a high level of attention to detail is required within the role.

• Upon the Kerry Broker completing the Import Clearance the Import Export Specialist will complete a full review of the Import Declaration against our instructions and flag / request corrections to any errors or issues, completed declarations will be organised and filed according to local customs requirements

• The import export specialist is the first point of escalation for Kerry Sites, Kerry Transport Providers or Kerry Brokers in the operations and movement of goods where concerns are around Import / Export formalities.

• Management of external stakeholders and communication to them is key to ensure a seamless Import Export operation, a high-level attention to detail is required within the role.

• Upon the freight forwarder completing the Export Clearance the Import Export Specialist will complete a full review of the Export Declaration and full set of documents against our instructions and flag / request corrections to any errors or issues, completed declarations will be organised and filed according to local customs requirements.

• There will also be a requirement to support the import process as and when required regarding identifying key pieces of information from time to time as and when the business requires

Health and Safety Responsibilities 
• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your applicable incident reporting system

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree level in an Engineering, Statistics, Supply Chain, Business / Commercial discipline would be an advantage. 
  • Working hours 4pm -1am support Europe region
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in import / export. Must have a good working understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Experience within Customs will be an advantage
  • High level of English language proficiency as this is Kerry's most widely spoken language.
