About the role

Assist the QA Manager in recommending objectives and strategies (including short- and long-term plans), in the implementation and coordination of Company policies on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) with the view to maximizing Quality Assurance and Objectives. Ensure the safety and effectiveness of the Company’s procedures, adhering to international standards at all times and ensuring that the Company’s standards are never compromised. 

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct self-audit program 
  • Monitor and motivate staff performance and develop or upgrade the skills / knowledge of Lab Technicians 
  • Conducting physical and chemical testing of finished products 
  • Responsible for product quality improvement 
  • Monitor and coordinate the pest control activity for the plant 
  • Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments are correctly set up, maintained and calibrated as per specific schedule 
  • Verify the final release of finished goods through product sensory, review CCP, production and microbiological results records 
  • Ensure all records are well documented and traceable 
  • Monitor the stock level / inventory of chemicals, glassware, apparatus, etc. in the labs 
  • Managing re-works without compromising the product quality 
  • Conduct shelf-life extension testing 
  • Investigate customer complaints 
  • Support with customer and third-party audits as required 

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Quality Management with related manufacturing experience 
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in Quality department within a Foods or Pharmaceutical company 
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of product line and manufacturing processes, general knowledge of food industry, Hazard Analysis (HACCP), process control procedures/manual and statistical process control (SPC).
