About the role

We are looking for a Plant Planning Manager for our team in Malaysia. In this role you will be responsible for planning and scheduling within the site for all processes using the defined ICT tools and methodologies. You will responsible for supporting the planners and schedulers in making the right decisions to deliver customer service at optimum cost. In addition this role will also be responsible for leading the planning and scheduling teams to ensure they are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and teamwork and build trust through effective leadership.

Key responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Set strategic direction and objectives for the department in conjunction with business strategy
  • Manage, drive and control planning activities of raw materials, packaging materials and production across both Tampoi and Penang Sites
  • Manage all inventories and ensure efficient storage and movement of materials.
  • Ensure availability of information and inventory to support, production schedules and customer needs.
  • Support strategic sourcing in conjunction with commodity management group by providing usage requirements to support demand
  • Define and manage the process for executing purchase orders under agreements negotiated by commodity management group.
  • Define and manage the processes for delivery of all procurement, materials and logistics activities. Ensure compliance with local laws and Internal Control.
  • Support commercialisation projects which are related to Supply Chain. Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives and options to mitigate risk
  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Monitor and evaluate team members. Attract, retain and develop high potential talent with clear succession planning
  • Identifies strategic opportunities for supply chain improvement and works closely with peers, regional, manufacturing and global network.
  • Implements and manages appropriate KPIS to monitor and improve performance

Qualifications and skills

Degree in any disciplinary (preferably Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent) but must have at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry or food industry
Advance Diploma in Purchasing and Material Management or APICs (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) preferred.
Must have strong communication skills in English (oral and written) and good organizational and leadership qualities to lead the department.
Must be a highly driven individual with good track record in leadership role to apply and execute all duties in the role
SAP experience is a plus.
