About the role


Work Location:  Tampoi, Johor (MY)
Reporting To:     R&D Manager


In this role as a Food Technologist based at Kerry Johor, you will work with the Senior R&D team members supporting feasibility studies, development and scale up/ production trials to ensure the ingredient functionality meets the customer’s expectations.


Key responsibilities


  • Responsible for the preparation of samples for customer trials, product approval, country registration and market promotion.
  • Conduct evaluation of raw material and finished product application using sensory methodology.
  • Materials and finished product set up and maintenance of system.
  • Gain a full understanding of the production process and procedures and being a process and technical expert in the assigned technology and across multiple Kerry Taste & Nutrition technologies
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with R&D to gather relevant information for Stability studies on plant trials and commercialized products, Product Scale-up and Plant Commercialization
  • Record, validate and communicate production data, process parameters and production issues encountered after plant trials. Complete pre/post trial checklist and reports.
  • Assist with troubleshooting during pilot, scale-up trials, and commercial runs.
  • Collect relevant R&D samples e.g. shelf-life/analytical samples, customer samples.
  • Expand product knowledge by cross training in other technologies, assisting Commercialization team as needed.


Qualifications and skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/Food Technologist or other similar discipline with at least 1-2 years of experience in scaling up production in manufacturing plant; Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply. 
  • Experienced in working in a food & beverage manufacturing company with HACCP, GMP & ISO 22000 certified environment strongly preferred.  
  • Able to work independently at flexible hours with minimum supervision and able to work as a team.
  • Willing to support and run production trials after official hours and during weekend if required. 
  • Good communication and writing skills in English
  • Competent in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
