About the role

  • Reporting: Category Technologist Lead

 

Key responsibilities

 

Packaging Materials Portfolio Management

  • Custodian of Packaging Library within category and accountable for technical aspects of packaging.
  • Manage packaging lifecycle which including code creation, extension, block approval in MDG, review related technical documents and governing processes.
  • Support new packaging code set up by collecting required doc and coordinate technical details from suppliers.
  • Support the standardization of specifications, descriptions, and codes. Provide technical support of regional packaging code consolidation/category transformation and buying specifications project.
  • Manage packaging technical review exercise with new business acquisition and internal product transfer request.
  • Support the RDA function through satisfying project needs from concept through commercialization, including optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Assist & consult RDA on packaging technical questions.
  • Manage the technical relationship with our suppliers and assist with RDA engagement when working on maintenance & new sourcing needs.
  • Coordinate supplier collaboration opportunities with procurement/RDA representatives through technical presentations, innovation etc.

 

Profit Improvement and Sustainability Project Management

  • Coordinate, review and approve the technical aspects of Profit Improvement and Sustainability Program’s relating to packaging category with Category Buyers, manage use of opportunistic packaging purchase.
  • Drive PIP and Sustainability Project Implementation from technical perspective.
  • Conduct packaging technical evaluation, coordinating and attend trial runs together with site stakeholders.

 

Operational Excellence

  • To provide technical advice and support on quality / operational issues related to packaging if required.
  • Work with supply chain to optimize usage of packaging stock and to review for substitution in situation of stock shortage.


 

Qualifications and skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering, or related science field are preferred.
  • Basic understanding of packaging knowledge and project management skill will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experiences in manufacturing environment.
  • To drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
