About the role

The Manager of Research, Development and Application (RD&A) reports to the RD&A Director and is tasked with managing the RD&A teams to deliver projects in a timely fashion. Interaction with customers is required to deliver new product development, drive product innovation while internally assisting with cost savings initiatives and improving existing products. She/he provides technical expertise across the various functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Development of commercially viable taste and functional solutions for beverage applications from brief to launch based on robust formulation, application and processes.
  • Develop cost effective solutions for beverage applications that meets relevant local regulatory requirments. Demonstrate robust technical understanding of a variety of flavours and functional systems
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of different beverage applications & processing equipments and becomes recognised as a solutions partner by our customers. Interacts and troubleshoots with customers on application concerns.
  • Optimally use Kerry’s taste portfolio and work closely with taste creation team to win in beverage end use market.
  • Innovate with locally relavant taste profiles in beverage category.
  • Work with customers and suppliers to develop innovative solutions and resolve technical problems leading to the formation of strong technical relationships.
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, Marketing and Regulatory teams to develop integrated, innovative and market relevant solutions.
  • Support innovation for new product development and identify new business opportunities to meet customer and consumer needs in Turkiye market.
  • Has a good understanding of operational systems to fulfill R, D&A responsibility in product scale ups and commercialisation.
  • Develops food system formulations and related applications stability performance through demonstrated understanding of food formulation, chemical interactions, sensory testing and identify suitable methods for analysis.
  • Identify and evaluate technologies and ingredients for new product development, improvements of existing products; leverage existing technologies to identify and promote innovation opportunities
  • Keeps up to date on best practice and competitor benchmarking on product development to ensure Kerry's leadership position.
     

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum Bachelors/Masters Degree in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry or a related Applied Science
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience working in applications / scientist roles in beverage application including processing experience.
  • Prior experience of developing a variety of solutions within Beverage applications (non negotiable). Raw material knowledge and ingredient functionality, Sensory evaluation skills.
  • Technical and functional excellence in laboratory, pilot plant and factory environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong initiative and a hands on approach, ability to prioritise
  • Demonstrate personal accountability, collaborative approach, Open minded, self starter and ownership of actions to completion
