Key responsibilities

  • Carry out audits of the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems to verify compliance against defined standards and codes of practice.
  • Perform internal audits in accordance with the internal audit programme and work with the Quality Team, Production Stream and other functional areas to ensure issues identified are resolved and closed out in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that agreed closure dates are met and not exceeded.
  • Calibration of Inspection and Test Equipment
  • Perform verification checks on factory measuring and testing equipment eg. Temp Probes and working in conjunction with other functional areas, verify delivery of calibration schedule. 
  • Perform factory based Quality audits to verify compliance against defined standards, codes of practice and product specifications.  
  • Facilitate the resolution and close out of issues / incidents which have been identified as part of audit or process monitoring activities.
  • Continuously improve standards set and performance against those standards by participating in 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other appropriate KPS methodologies with the Production stream.
  • Facilitate the implementation of Quality Standards by ensuring the necessary support is made available to the Production streams and other functional areas.
  • Provide training, support and guidance to the Production Streams to ensure standards are fully understood thereby enabling effective implementation.
  • Ensure all finished product, raw materials, environmental, shelf life samples are collected in compliance with the plan, and are submitted on time and the results obtained and reported to the business.
  • Working with the Technical systems administrator collect, process and despatch all required samples of product/swabs etc.

Qualifications and skills

  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of H&S Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management systems eg. ISO 14001
  • Ability to solve problems using 8 Step Practical Problem Solving
