About the role

To be successful as the Materials Supervisor, should be able to critically assess suppliers, products, and services, and provide to correct channels costing, MOQ, and Lead time of product. Ultimately, an outstanding Materials Supervisor has a keen sense of business and maintains meticulous transaction records.

What would you do?

  • Overseeing the transport of materials to and from departments and ensure material needs are met throughout the organization
  • Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of goods, services, reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitoring of safety stock and min/max levels and adjusting as required
  • Oversee the development and execution planning to reduce/remove rework or obsolescence inventory
  • Implement contingency plan to minimize and/or cover any ad-hoc issues (quality, shipment delay ..etc)
  • Acts as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
  • Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
  • Provide guidance to team alignment by evaluating supplier performances
  • Work directly with Material Planner to execute MRP on a weekly basis and monitor / review materials requirements (raw materials and packaging materials)
  • Support relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may have an impact on business operations (i.e. production scheduling adherence)

What will you need to be successful?

  • Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred but not required
  • 2-3 years Previous experience leading a team, functioning as Materials / MCO Agent, or providing guidance in a similar position preferred.
  • Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
