Where You'll Work

Our Harrisonburg, VA, location is part of our Taste division and creates a variety of stock broth, soups, and bases. This role will support two sites: Harrisonburg, VA and Banks Crossing, GA, with the majority of time spent in Harriosnburg, VA.

What You'll Do

As an integral member of the stocks and broths process manufacturing team, this role leads and supports various projects ranging from plant process improvements, driving technical/technological innovation and efficiency to execution of capital projects while keeping people safety, food safety and sustainability as top of mind priorities. This position requires strong knowledge in process engineering, lean manufacturing, project management and sanitary design for food manufacturing. Must be comfortable working in a global context as part of an interdisciplinary team in a heavily matrixed environment.

On a high level, you'll 

  • Investigation and resolution of operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks and lead teams through application of continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing and six sigma to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of process innovation and collaboration
  • Identification of best in class processing solutions
  • Be a key stakeholder  in the design, development and creation of scope for engineering projects or the engineering work of the department to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Must have experience with extraction technology and / or stocks & broth industry

 

What You'll Need

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar engineering discipline from an accredited institution is required
  •  3+ years’ experience with investigations and resolutions of operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks and lead teams through application of continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing and six sigma to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Basic knowledge of advanced operational improvement methodologies in Lean and Six Sigma
  • Experience with extraction technology and/or separation technology, membrane concentration, aseptic processing, aseptic packaging, USDA meat processing, spray drying, refrigeration systems
