About the role

We are recruiting for a RD&A Technologist II to join our Dry Dairy Taste team in Glamsbjerg, Denmark.

 

This role will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across sales, business development, marketing, operations, supply chain, quality, regulatory, sensory and customers where you will be involved in the design, development and scale up of Dry Dairy Taste systems.

The ideal candidate should have excellent technical, organizational, numerical, project management and interpersonal skills, you will be Dynamic, self-driven and capable of working on your own initiative which is a key attribute for this role.

 

You will be based at our Glamsbjerg site, Denmark but will be expected to travel to customer sites and to other Kerry sites when required.

What will I be doing?

  • Responsible for product development from initiation to launch of Dairy Taste opportunities, ensuring final product is fit for purpose and meets agreed timelines.
  • Ensures that good laboratory practices, lab and pilot plant protocols are being met. Ensures record documentation and methodology are completed and kept in appropriate databases.
  • Maintains RD&A lab/storage areas to high level and promotes good practices to all who use the same facility- including upkeep of equipment, stocking of supplies with appropriate traceability, and general cleaning of work areas. Actively participates and drives quality improvement for the function.
  • Conduct pilot plant trials - operate pilot plant equipment.
  • Carry out technical presentations on Dairy taste systems to customers and internally to commercial and other RD&A Teams.
  • Develop a strong business acumen and market understanding.
  • Facilitate handover of product, attend factory trials and any productions necessary to handover product to factory.
  • Attend, participate and run when necessary weekly team meetings to track and ensure we are meeting our project goals and timelines.
  • Hold or participate in product taste testing and evaluation sessions as part of the RD&A team.
  • Assist other members of the team with laboratory/Trial / pilot work as directed by the RD&A Manager.
  • Manage the Glamsbjerg RD&A sample queue to ensure product samples are dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Site teams to ensure development fits site capabilities ensuring smooth transition from pilot to factory.
  • Drive and execute cost- saving initiatives.
  • Ensure that all activities are correctly logged into the Kerry time tracking system.
  • Provide regular project status update-presentations to key stakeholders

What do I need to be successful?

  • Degree in a Dairy or Food Science/Technology Discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential, business Danish beneficial, further languages beneficial.

  • Self motivated & Organised.
  • Must have an enthusiastic and practical hands-on approach with an interest in Food / Nutrition.
