About the role

As an Account Director, you will be responsible for managing the Snacks, Prepared Meals, Soup, Sauces, Dressing & a few blenders / meat related and distribution within the accounts in the Scandinavian region. You will be the “one face” of Kerry and, therefore, responsible for selling all relevant Kerry technologies and selected products. You will create sustainable profitability for Kerry through developing and executing the strategic plan in close alignment with the Sales Director based on a deep understanding of the account.

Key responsibilities

So what will I be doing?

  • You will prospect and “close” new business opportunities through custom product and integrated solution selling to deliver profitable growth.
  • You will identify a portfolio of quality growth projects.
  • You will pro-actively defend current business: create barriers to entry to outsmart competition.
  • You will develop strong strategic relationships within the account’s organisation including R&D, Marketing and Procurement and foster counterpart relationships within Kerry.
  • You will demonstrate experience and understanding of the science and language around what we do: sensory / organoleptic, nutrition, labelling / legislation, manufacturing, RD&A processes, quality, etc.
  • You will work closely together with your dedicated Kerry R&D counterpart.
  • You will clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly workstreams to internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will overall manage the account pro-actively, be on top of things in order to exceed customer expectations.
  • You will actively manage pricing of the account in collaboration with the Account Director & commercial finance.
  • You will pro-actively manage sales contracts with regards to phasing and forecast accuracy.
  • You will engage pro-actively and collaborate with other Kerry counterparts in the different regions.

Qualifications and skills

What do I need to be successful?

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in managing accounts within the Food industry (i.e. snacks).

These include:

  • A good technical knowledge of the ingredients world, ideally in Scandinavia.
  • A bachelor’s Degree in food or related Sciences.
  • A proven success in negotiating relevant deals.
  • A good working knowledge of food science and how it relates to product development and its commercialization.
  • Demonstrating strong communication ability and excellent listening skills.
  • Traveling to customers sites across Scandinavia & DACH forms an integral part of the role.
  • Being fluent in English and one Scandinavian language is a plus.
