What You'll Do
The Maintenance level 1 team member will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance.
All work will be completed in compliance with EPA, Hazmat, OSHA, and Kerry safety rules and regulations.
Independently performs Preventive maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance planner per Kerry and manufacturer specifications.
Log all work performed on maintenance work orders, repairs work orders, and new equipment installations, along with hours worked on each work order in the SAP per Kerry and manufacturer specifications.
Ability to learn production process and nuances of equipment to assist production team members.
Follow and comply with all Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations.
Maintain departmental housekeeping and plant sanitation at a level that meets or exceeds Kerry and regulatory standards.
Complete all repairs and installations with the Safety, Health and welfare of all employees and customers in mind.
Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in troubleshooting.
Active participation on Predictive maintenance, Continuous Improvement of the Process and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Teams.
Work with outside contractors to ensure the equipment repairs and Preventive maintenance is completed correctly and good communication between contractor’s and Kerry facility.
Responsible for communicating maintenance issues to management that are a Safety or Health hazard or could result in operational downtime.
Must be able to prioritize projects or request guidance from Supervisors or Management staff.
Duties include but are not limited to trouble shooting equipment, equipment repairs, performing preventive maintenance and ability to navigate SAP to complete notifications and work orders.
What You'll Need To Be Successful And Safe
2 year degree in industrial technology, advance manufacturing preferred
1 + Years experience required. Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
A Maintenance Worker will be subject to working in areas of high noise level and in areas of hazards from wet floors. Burn hazards may exist when working on steam powered equipment. High degree of mobility is necessary as job requires much climbing, crawling, bending, and twisting. The ability to lift long and heavy lengths of pipe above the head and work from ladders, manlifts, etc. sometimes at heights exceeding 20 feet above the floor is required. Vessel entry and working in confined spaces may be required.
The ability to work outside for periods of time in temperatures varying from below zero to above 100°F is also required. The ability to apply force to lift heavy equipment and operate wrenches, hammers, pry bars, etc. and apply sufficient force to tighten large nuts and bolts is also required. The ability to regularly lift 25 lbs is required as well as the ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. A keen auditory sense is required to diagnose equipment problems.
