What's this job all about?



Role Purpose: Win the market by enabling Kerry Foods and it's customer's to adopt a shared category vision through supporting the creation of category development plans identifying opportunities that optimise growth for Kerry Foods and it's customers. You must be instrumental in delivering category & customer strategies which address consumer needs and influence shopper behaviour.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop a consumer driven definition of the Category and segment based on how & where shoppers shop it. Understand the role that the category & brand ranges play for shoppers and retailers 
  • Create insight - vision, drivers and strategies which capture the aspirational future view of the category 
  • Understand how a category performs and how shoppers behave in different channels and formats, so that specific recommendations can be made 
  • Use data from multiple sources to assess the category situation and build recommendations to drive performance based on key insights 
  • Optimise merchandising layout by channel to improve ease of shop ensuring the right quantity and quality of space, to maximise category performance
  • Build fact based price and promotion recommendations for the category by channel to optimise the performance 
  • Selecting the right Category Drivers/Strategies for each customer, ensuring that they deliver opportunities for growth and agree a scorecard to measure performance 
  • Building Customer Marketing plans that align Kerry with the requirements of the customer and contain activities  aligned to channels/formats, shoppers & performance 
What does our ideal candidate look like?



  • Category Manager/Senior Category Manager experience
  • Educated to degree level - desirable but not essential 
  • You must have an FMCG background 
  • Own Label (food) experience - desirable 
  • Focused, attention to detail, goal orientated, take ownership & motivated are the key qualities!
