About the role

Responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing processes in the in the meat and seafood industries using Kerry Taste and functional ingredient technologies. 
If you have experience in processed meats/seafood processing and are passionate about working closely with Ingredient technologies and Kerry’s established local and global R & D teams to ensure smooth flow from bench development to factory scale up, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating and enhancing products that fill a niche in the market or allow the Kerry clients to remain competitive.
  • Determining product specifications according to several factors and uses.
  • Consulting market research materials and sales data to ensure that products are viable and competitive.
  • Submitting proposals and designs for evaluation by the project team and management before moving to the next stage.
  • Document ingredients, formulations, processes, and other testing involved with new product development.
  • Collaborate with sales team, R&D team to develop prototypes to meet customer needs and briefs, creating products and prototypes that are in accordance with customer briefs.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and products developments.
  • Generating ideas for new products and researching feasibility in terms of profitability, and compliance with regulations.
  • Preforming any other duty as it may be assigned by the office and line manager.
  • Travel across Africa.
     

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology.
  • Practical research, factory, or laboratory work experience.
  • Proven working experience as a Product Developer or in a related field.
  • Team player.
  • Creative and innovative thinking skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
