About the role

The purpose of this role is to be responsible for timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that Production activities are executed in a safe manner, as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Key responsibilities

•    To carry out repairs, maintenance and operation in a food manufacturing environment.
•    General machine maintenance in a food manufacturing environment
•    Ensure Planned maintenance is carried out within BOP
•    Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
•    Ensures the safe and functional operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
•    Provide continuous process support
•    Trouble shooting and rectify faults occurring due to failure of mechanical equipment
•    Continuously monitor the working environment responsible area and report any abnormalities found
•    Plant and equipment inspection and defect reporting
•    Installation of equipment
•    Physically monitor and control the production process
•    Examine equipment and complete safety checklist
•    Report all at risk behaviors and unsafe conditions to the line manager
•    Conduct visual inspections on the process and equipment
•    Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and skills

•    Trade tested and qualified (Artisan Minimum N4)
•    3-5 yrs experience in Food or FMCG industry
•    At least 3 years’ experience in the maintenance of gearboxes, conveyors, and food processing equipment
•    Physically able
•    Take instructions / communicate in English
•    Willing to make a contribution as a member of the operations team
•    Pneumatics/hydraulics
•    Basic electricity will be an advantage
