About the role

The Technical Manager will provide expertise in the leadership, deployment and transfer of recognised 'best in class' quality standards and skills to enable Kerry Coleraine to fulfil the business plans targets. The successful candidate will sit on The Senior Leadership Team for the Site and ensure continued evolution and development of a continuous improvement Quality culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain and update all Food Safety and Quality Systems as per the business needs to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Set and monitor Quality KPI’s for the business and use these to drive site standards and improvements.
  • Proactively review and challenge standards throughout the business to promote a high level of adherence and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and motivate the Quality team ensuring clear definition of roles and responsibilities
  • Manage individual performance of your team by setting clear performance indicators, individual objectives and setting a structured working menu for each role. Performance and Development reviews to take place on a regular basis.
  • Drive the site Quality strategy to ensure a Green rating for all 3rd party/customer audits/visits, launches and site approval activity is achieved.
  • Works closely with other Kerry Group sites and incorporates Group Codes of Practice and initiatives into site systems and standards.
  • Drive a robust Quality and Safety culture and focus on site.
  • Build strong value adding relationships with suppliers and cross functional departments.
  • Partner and network with other organisations to help develop best practice e.g. customer Technical managers, Local Government Authorities, and 3rd party bodies.

Qualifications and skills

  • A 3rd level qualification in a scientific / food technology discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing a Quality function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent Organisational and Project management skills
  • Ability to identify, implement and lead change on site through challenging, leading and influencing managers and cross functional teams.
  • Customer focused - demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal & written)
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills. Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data and present in report format with logical sequencing.
  • Knowledge of specific customer standards as they apply to the site
