About the role

We are recruiting for a NPI Technician to join our team in Coleraine.

 

You will be joining a fast paced and friendly team and will be responsible for the Collection of raw materials, kitchen trial, sample manufacture, packing and despatch to customer.

You will also be supporting the Factory with Product & Packaging trials to be planned in advance at the trial planning meetings and trials to be attended. During this trial communication with the lab, operations and technical team is essential to ensure that all is under control and running smoothly. Trial paper work to be recorded, filed and any escalations to be communicated.

Key responsibilities

  • Checking salesforce every day and dispatching of samples and completion of paperwork
  • Records to be kept of the trial and pictures
  • Responsible for the correct labelling of product.
  • Responsible for planning and co-ordinating organoleptic assessment, keeping paper work updated in folder and communicating any issues.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating micro and nutritional sample collection and dispatch.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely respond of results from the lab, reviewing if result have met target, keeping paper work updated in folder and communicating any issues.
  • Collecting samples from store and updating packaging information including ingredient dec and nutritional.
  • Responsible for circulation and communication of this information.
  • Ensuring there is an NPD folder for each customer and that all the relevant document is held within this folder (audit ready).
  • Understanding the customer protocols from the quality team.
  • Ensuring the area where raw materials are stored is clean and products are in date
  • Good management of trial samples and ensure the NPD kitchen and pallet space is kept clean and in date.

Qualifications and skills

  • Previous work or intern experience within a food related environment
  • Food science or similar degree
  • Good communication skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Computer skills such as MS office
