About the role

Supervision of the shipping department to ensure that order preparation and shipment is completed in a manner that is compliant with customer, company and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

1. Communicate order readiness with the shipping coordinator and allocate order preparation to the shipping workers.

2. Maintain worksheets on floor in out the door date sequence.

3. Maintain order with packaged product on shipping floor and racks to best utilize space and increase worker efficiency.

4. Communicate with supervisors from business units as required for order efficiency. 5. 5. Process orders in UPS & FedEx systems as required.

6. Verify accuracy of order preparation utilizing RF procedure.

7. Maintain departmental equipment, (ie) fork lifts, RF units, tools, stretch wrap etc in working order, ensure all operators are trained properly in their use and keep track of and order shipping supplies as required.

 8. Cross train employees within the department on all functions of the job.

9. Cross train employees with receiving and material handling functions.

10. Responsible for order preparation, worksheet management, fork lift management , GMP’s and department safety standards.

11. Maintain appropriate shipping worker productivity and proficiency requirements.

12. Other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications and skills

  • College degree / Bachelor´s degree preferred ( not required )
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge & experience of SAP is desirable
  • Proficient in Excel
  • HAZMAT certified or able to get certified with in 6 months of employment
  • IMDG/IATA/DOT Certification ( desirable  )
  • Food experience ( desirable )
