Key responsibilities

2nd shift 230PM - 1030PM


Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic evaluation using a variety of laboratory equipment as assigned.

Responsible for the identification and isolation of non-conforming materials as well as issuing hold orders as appropriate. Monitor and enforce company and government regulations pertaining to Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation requirements

  1. Perform and document periodic GMP inspections
  2. Perform and document sensory evaluation.
  3. Support established pest control program.
  4. Inspects rooms to ensure they are clean/sanitized and ready for production.
  5. Assist in compiling quality and statistical data
  6. Responsible for laboratory equipment calibrations.
  7. Gather and assess quality and statistical data through multiple software applications including Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.
  8. Inspects product to ensure it is made according to specifications.
  9. Performs sanitation duties to keep lab tidy and organized.
  10. Performs all duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP requirements. Adheres to uniform requirements.
  11. Audits HACCP paperwork, batch records, and other paperwork as assigned.
  12. Adheres to all safety rules.
  13. Performs all other related duties as required.
  14. Responsible for identifying and resolving problems and reporting food safety/quality issues to the QATM or management team.
  15. This position reports to the QA Supervisor (and/or QATM).
  16. The Quality Technician is responsible for coverage when Quality Technicians are absent.
  17. Manage and verify captive glove program
  18. Perform testing activities to include; environmental swabbing, sample preparing of lab samples, ATP swabbing, and others as assigned.
  19. Prepare lab samples as needed.
  20. Verify all sanitation and clean break activities for completion.
  21. Audit GMP practices of employees
  22. Inspect incoming ingredients and packaging as needed for acceptability.
  23. Inspect all finished goods.
  24. Review and process operational paperwork for accuracy.
  25. Assist plant management with any food safety incidents and investigations.
  26. Perform all other activities as assigned.

Qualifications and skills

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
