Production Manager, 3rd Shift

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee production activity to ensure timely responsiveness to both internal and external customers
  • Control department costs by monitoring overtime and use of equipment and materials.
  • Review and reconcile weekly timesheets.
  • Liaison with Quality Control on all quality issues to co-develop cost effective business solutions to problems emanating in process or from incorrect usage of raw material.
  • Be resident department expert on safe evacuating of product from all tanks, reactors. Must be able to explain safe operation of  pumps, mixers, filters, lift trucks to subordinates.
  • Follow all quality assurance instructions on formulas related to proper sampling of batches.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations
  • Other duties assigned by manager.

Qualifications and skills

  • High School or equivalent diploma
  • Experience using SAP
  • Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions
  • Some basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills, capable of reading and writing in English
  • Knowledge of hazardous material regulations
  • Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 450 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish between labels.

Working Environment:

  • Factory environment with exposure to flavor and basic product chemicals and raw materials.
