About the role

The Sales Director, Meat End User Market (EUM) will be responsible for driving increased growth and will be a key enabler of business success.   The role will work across sales, marketing and RDA teams to uncover opportunities & drive sales.   The incumbent will spend time with key customers and must have deep product and in depth understanding of the markets serviced. Develop new sales opportunities for designated Meat EUM product lines (grill, smoke, seasoning, coating, food protection).


Remote / home based National role with preferred location close to major airport – ie Chicago, Atlanta.

Key responsibilities

Lead a sales team to provide strategy, leadership & key initiatives to achieve revenue, margin and market share objectives.  Actively engage in strategic customer activities and work with internal teams to develop and manage to strategic account plans.  Continually and pro-actively partner with other leaders and various levels of stakeholders to help drive collaborative innovation, solutions for our customers.

  • Take a science and data driven approach to increase overall project success rate for the Meat EUM
  • Identify new market or product category opportunities and lead the development of new programs and/or products to support those opportunities
  • Accountability for the commercial success directly linked to designated key accounts
  • Take a strong leadership position to ensure there is a collaborative effort in developing a sustainable pipeline of growth
  • Drive category sales with key accounts and targets by quickly establishing rapport & creditability as a creative asset
  • Lead market intelligence initiatives  & collect and analyze market data to support key national accounts  
Qualifications and skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; education in food/meat science preferred
  • Requires 10+ years’ experience within the food industry, preferably with national accounts
  • An understanding of Profit and Loss, Budgeting, Forecasting and excellent communication skills are necessary
  • Travel required >50%
  • Clear thinker and communicator, with the ability to connect and network with various levels of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Strong experience in data analysis from primary and secondary sources and survey/script preparation
