About the role
At Kerry Charleville, we have an exciting opportunity for a MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING MANAGER to join the Engineering Function. At Kerry Dairy Consumer Foods we lead the way in manufacturing and marketing chilled foods that delight consumers across the UK, Ireland and international markets. As well as creating the finest customer-branded chilled foods, we also own an impressive stable of our own household name brands, from Cheestrings, Yollies, Denny and Dairygold to Mattessons, Wall's and Richmond sausages. This role is key in strengthening the people aspect of the Engineering and Maintenance team on site to plan requirements for future performance. You will work with the Site Engineering Manager and Maintenance Planner to make this happen. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Maintenance Manager role. Charleville is our cheese processing plant and home to the much loved Cheestrings brand. Based on the Kilmallock road, it is an easily accessible location. Key responsibilities
- Supporting the site to develop a strategy for engineering implementation & asset life-cycle-management
- Ensure all team members have a proactive approach to H&S, Implementation of essential engineering processes
- Support the introduction of a knowledge sharing system, and ensure all team members engage with such systems
- Develop training strategy and development plans for maintenance team members
- Contribute to the training strategy for the broader engineering team, identifying key skills shortages
- Implement performance management for all maintenance team members
- Liaise with Internal stakeholders, external engineering personnel and third-party service providers.
- Set up and management of Service Level Agreements for standard servicing & maintenance of plant & utilities.
- Ensure contingency response for out of hours and critical failures.
- Apply all required permits to work (including contractor control).
- Ensure relevant legal & regulatory requirements are adhered to with reference to hazardous materials
What do I need to be successful?
We understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success
- Degree in Engineering or trades qualification preferable
- Extensive experience in a process industry (food/ pharmaceutical/ medical devices desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills. Strong leadership skills. Strong people management skills.
- Ability to apply engineering principles in practical application.
- Strong business knowledge and ability to interface with manufacturing organization
