Fleischmann’s sole focus is producing the highest quality vinegars and cooking wines, with a focus on longevity, quality and innovation.  The company is the world’s largest industrial producer of white distilled vinegar and the number one producer of Organic Vinegars in North America.  Fleischmann’s also produces and distributes a full line of specialty vinegars, including balsamic vinegar, generic and varietal wine vinegars, as well as malt, rice, apple cider vinegars and a wide variety of cooking wines.  The company supplies a large spectrum of the food community, with a strong emphasis on the healthy living and sustainable products category.  Customers range from the traditional users of vinegar such as condiments, sauces and dressings, all the way to pet food and care, meats, soups and frozen entrees, as well as a variety of commercial applications.  Fleischmann’s seven production facilities operate under a strict GMP policy, and are externally audited for quality and food safety.


The Vice President, Sales, holds full accountability for leading and directing all sales and marketing efforts for Fleischmann’s Vinegar End Use Markets (EUMs) for North America.  The role will drive the development and execution of the commercial go to market strategy and will be accountable for delivering sustainable top line growth to the business with new and existing customers through a team of Sales, Marketing and Technical Business Development professionals.   The role will work collaboratively with the North American sales teams and RD&A to bring innovation and improved solutions to customers and, as a key leadership role, will be expected to develop talent for future success with Fleischmann’s.


Key responsibilities


  • Responsible for achieving sales goals across EUMs for North America.
  • Deliver on a pipeline of sustainable growth for Fleischmann’s through a deep understanding of customers and their business practices, with emphasis on senior-level customer relationships
  • Develop and execute sales strategies
  • Through Technical Business Development and Marketing teams, maintain an external bias with a strong knowledge of customer needs, market trends and consumer preferences within the EUMs to enable prioritization of Fleischmann’s investments to drive growth
  • Maintain accountability for governance and stewardship for consistent and uniform margin management.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources and actions are recommended to address customer-based issues including competitive threats, product and service complaints, and information discrepancies.
  • Establish Fleischmann’s as a long-term partner at accounts by developing, maintaining and expanding strong customer working relationships at multiple levels and functions.
  • Participate in development of annual sales budget targets. Meet budget objectives, and take appropriate action to achieve and/or exceed sales budget targets.
  • Continually gather pertinent information and partner with RD&A, Operations and cross functional teams to allow Fleischmann’s teams to successfully make sound business decisions on the viability of commercial projects.
  • Lead the progression of key customer projects by ensuring communication flow between customer and relevant cross-functional teams; including a strong relationship with relevant Operations and Supply Chain. 
  • Create an empowering and engaging environment that attracts and retains the best talent and enables them to perform their best and deliver for Fleischmann’s.
Qualifications and skills

Experience/Skills Required for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required with preference in Marketing, Business, Communications, Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline.  MBA preferred
  • 10+ years progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in related Sales, technical or R&D roles within a food company
  • Must have expertise in formulation and selling food ingredients
  • Experience with building deep customer relationships and converting those relationships into increased sales, innovation and top line growth 
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders – employees, customers, peers, the board, external associations
  • Experience building strategic plans with demonstrated ability to formulate strategies and turn them into clear compelling, actionable plans and results that are informed by the external landscape and deliver year on year growth.
  • Allocate and leverage resources against priorities, collaborating with peers to maximise Fleischmann’s technology and resources
  • Make decisions informed by strong commercial understanding balanced with deep market and consumer insights
  • Strong people leader with demonstrated ability to build and develop teams
  • Travel 40%
