About the role

Business Development Manager will focus on the development of EUM business for Meat in Brazil and South Cone.

The role will include the coordination of technical and commercial support for Kerry’s existing meat business.

Business Development Manager must ensure efficient communication of the technical benefits of Kerry technologies offerings within Kerry and to existing and potential customers, follow- up on day-to day customer queries and action points as well as accurate communication of key action points to relevant personnel.

A key element of the role will be to identify new growth opportunities for this market and develop a commercial and R&D project pipeline to drive growth with selected customers and target markets, including regional customers. Smokes, Taste and functional sistems (Proteins, Fibers, Marinades) will be a key focus.

Another key requirement is to represent other relevant Kerry technologies to the meat customer base in order to grow the Kerry product offering and demonstrate Kerry’s technical capabilities and depth across a range of functional ingredients and technologies. Critical success in the role will come from effective communication and co-ordination with the broader Nutrition and Taste organization.

Key responsibilities
  • Have a detailed technical understanding of Kerry technologies applications.
  • Develop a project pipeline into meat EUM to drive growth
  • Support customer requests for technical or commercial information
  • Work closely with relevant technical, and commercial personnel to progress key identified opportunities and projects.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Kerry’s competitors, their products and key markets.
  • Contribute to the development of the technology’s vision and strategy to deliver growth and profitability
  • Provide detailed information on current and prospective customers,
  • Enhance the growth and profitability of the technology through ensuring strategic management decisions and new business development initiates are executed on in time and in full
  • Commercially aware of sales targets for the business.
Qualifications and skills

Essential Experience:

  • Graduate with a Science related degree – preferably Chemistry / Chemical Engineering,  Food/Nutrition.
  • Advanced English
  • Good communication skills and capable of team work
  • Knowledge/experience of working in the Food Industry.
  • Good commercial skills

Desirable Experience

  • Technical/commercial experience in meat product development (meat processors or ingredients (preferable))

Aptitudes/Capabilities:

  • Good decision maker – capable of working off own initiative.
  • Technically capable to represent the  product range.
  • Excellent communication skills critical to success of this role.
  • Strong commercial/ numeric skills
  • Ability to interact at several disciplines such as sales, operations, R & D, finance, quality, customer service with customers.
  • Innovative/creative to identify novel opportunities.
  • Strategic thinker to plan and identify future growth potential for the business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrix structure
