About the role

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their carrier to work with a global leader and manufacturer of food ingredients and flavors. The position offers development opportunities and an exciting career path for the future in sales. In this role you will work cross functionally to collaborate with customer care, marketing, R&D, business development and other team members to improve the customer experience and grow the non-alcoholic customer base.  You will be the key contact between supply chain, customer care, R&D and the client. The Inside Sales Specialist will leverage prospects to develop a territory of their own while forming close working relationship with clients all while driving new business for our Commerce, CA facility.

Key responsibilities

  • The Inside Sales Specialist will be responsible for building the Taste & Nutrition business with new accounts focusing on Taste, particularly in the western USA. The portfolio is diverse, including flavor technologies and multiple types of ingredients to leverage within different customer platforms. 
  • Manage and develop prospects to convert to inside sales accounts. Pursue new leads to grow business and achieve sales targets for the respective territory.
  • Collect information (quotes, samples, technical document requests) through SalesForce.com 
  • Conduct sales analysis to identify lost or lagging business. Defend existing business. 
  • Assist with the tracking of sales targets to facilitate growth where possible.
  • Aid in resolving urgent situations by coordinating with internal stakeholders. 
  • Monitor both customer and competitor business trends.
  • Assist marketing in preparing for customer presentations, data collection and trade activities. 
  • Work with internal staff and operations to ensure Kerry delivers exceptional customer service.
  • Aid in the assembly of information including KPI’s, forecasts, and projects for customer business review presentations including concept development brainstorming and coordination. 
  • Regular communication and collaboration with the Commerce R&D staff. 
  • Be a leading member of the Taste Alley project. 
  • Promote Commerce capabilities and expertise. 
  • Drive engagements in Commerce’s new customer application space. 
  • Utilize Kerry Now with select customers where applicable. 

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, business or food science focus preferred.
  • Flavor industry experience and knowledge required.
  • Passionate about the food & beverage industry.
  • It is essential to have strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, self-aware and possess critical thinking skills to solve customer challenges.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, energetic and results driven with the ability to relate to and communicate with, individuals at all levels.
  • Team player with the desire to continually learn and further develop skill set.
  • Experience with Salesforce and SAP is a plus.
  • Position is remote with 2 days per week working from Kerry Commerce, CA

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $69,272 to $75,160 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
