About the role
As the EHS Compliance Manager for Kerry Penang, you will oversee the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance across our operations, ensuring adherence to both corporate standards and local regulations.
Key responsibilities

EHS Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with corporate guidelines and local regulations.
- Provide guidance on risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian EHS legislation, including OSHA 2022 (amendment), EQA, and other relevant laws.
- Liaise with Malaysian regulatory bodies, prepare required documentation, and ensure timely submission of reports.
- Stay updated on changes in local regulations and ensure site adaptation as needed.

Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs tailored to Kerry's requirements.
- Promote a Safety-First culture by fostering awareness and engagement in EHS initiatives among employees.

Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and submit monthly EHS data reports.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS considerations into all site activities.
- Serve as the point of contact for EHS-related queries and escalate issues to the EHS manager as needed.
- Participate in EHS committees and workgroups to contribute to the continuous improvement of EHS performance.

General Business:
- Interpret standards, advise management on required actions, and enforce adherence to regulations (e.g., OSHA 2022 (amendment) and Kerry corporate standards (KIRMS Standard (HE/HPA))).
- Oversee the maintenance of safety equipment, including fire protection systems and emergency equipment.
- Report on EHS monthly KPIs, monitoring, waste management, and carbon footprint.
- Execute and evaluate the effectiveness of the annual EHS Action Plan.
- Ensure resolution of HE/HP (KIRMS) findings and ISO 45001 & 14001 issues.
- Perform other tasks as requested by supervisors or related departments.
Qualifications and skills
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental/Health/Safety, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Registered with DOSH as a Safety & Health Officer (GB Holder).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) 2022 (amendment).
- Proven experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, including implementation and auditing.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS within a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and technical skills, with a passion for EHS and a drive to achieve results.
- Experience with compliance audits and safety management systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and concepts effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Lead auditor certification for ISO 14001/ISO 45001 is a plus
