About the Role:

 

The boilerman will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance for all equipment related to operations of the boilers to ensure there is no interruption to production.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To check and change the water supply line filters every week and when necessary
  • Record all daily readings related to utilities such as air compressor and air dryer, chiller and cooling tower, boiler, dryer fire pump, water usage, steam consumption, diesel consumption etc.
  • Monitor the performance of the above utilities and its component to ensure no interruption to production based on the specified time
  • Monitor the operation of the Hot Water System
  • Perform regeneration for boiler water softener system when necessary
  • To perform water hardness test on daily basis
  • To ensure housekeeping of all the utilities area well maintained.  Also communicate daily activities in daily logbook and to record down any abnormalities that need action. To ensure proper shift hand over with no communication breakdown
  • Assist Engineer during PMD & PMT inspection by DOSH.  Assist Production Executive in performing Dryer Fire System testing during CIP
  • Carry out Natural Gas weekly inspection and water tank monthly inspection as per instructed by Utility Engineer / Superuser

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Certificate in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum Boilerman Certificate First Grade
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the related field
  • Must be able to commit rotating shift hours (morning / day / night shift)
  • Must have a good knowledge & understanding with Boilers and basic knowledge in handling Air Compressor, Chillers, Air Dryers and Cooling Towers
  • Able to execute and monitor daily preventive and corrective maintenance work
  • Good technical skill & good initiative and results oriented
  • A team player with high commitment and able to perform under pressure
  • Dynamic, result-oriented and able to work under pressure
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast changing and growing global environment where accountability, quality, timeliness are key components
