About the Role

The Research, Development & Application (RD&A) Sample Lead and Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing all sampling activities and administrative tasks within the RD&A team. This role contributes to sampling reliability and is a key support to the Kerry RD&A team. Working hand in hand with our scientists and commercial teams by ensuring timely response on sampling, which directly impacts on project delivery and customer centricity.

In addition, this role will help maintain the RD&A facility excellence, equipment reliability and compliance to expected GMP’s, health and safety standards. While supporting co-ordination of general administration and deliver high levels of daily support to the RD&A team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Salesforce sample queue tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Print out sample requests and recipes
    • Allocate tasks in the sample department
    • Match finished samples with requests
    • Proper samples labeling
    • Pack and dispatch samples
    • Close requests off in the SFDC sample queue
  • Label and pack overseas samples with all the appropriate export documentation.
  • Perform weighting, compounding, processing and sample making within the wet and dry food ingredient products category in a food ingredient manufacturing environment.
  • Create and maintain RD&A raw material master list including Collection samples.
  • Organize retention and recipe library which includes filing recipes, work-sheet data entry and housekeeping for retention samples.
  • Apply operational and calibration procedures for QA testing equipment. e.g. Acid and Salt titration and pH meter, when requested
  • In charge of goods receiving and dispatching for RD&A
  • Finished goods, raw material, packaging ordering and maintaining stock control, when requested.
  • Place purchase orders for RDA (stationery, equipment repairs, consumables, lab supplies, packaging supplies, canteen supplies, etc.)
  • Managing RD&A accounts through SAP (GRNs, queries)
  • Navigating SAP and SFDC network systems.
  • Assisting in MDG work process and supporting creation of new FERT and RM codes
  • Ensure Good Laboratory Practice manual expectations are met. Maintains record documentation, including upkeep of equipment, and general cleaning of work areas. Actively participates in quality improvement for the function.
  • Performa housekeeping duties for pilot-plant and sample room.
  • Update sample department procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment and RD&A area in general.
  • Administrative support to RD&A Management team with data capturing, reports and presentation preparations and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
  • RD&A contact for Health & Safety, First Aid & Emergencies
  • Organise Pest Control
  • Support Sensory team e.g. labels, preparing rosters, runner


Person Specification:

  • Minimum Diploma in Food Science, Supply Chain or Technical field or any other related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years' of experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment
  • Candidate with 2-3 years supervisory skills is a must
  • Experience from a food & beverage manufacturing company with HACCP, GMP & ISO 22000 certified environment is preferred
  • Experience in stock control data an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in basic SAP and using shipping tools such as DHL, UPS and Salesforce will be an advantage
  • Fluent communication and writing skills in English
  • Able to work independently and proactively with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to meet deadlines, self-managed and ability to handle multiple tasks with speed and high accuracy
