About the role

We’re currently looking to recruit a Quality Systems Coordinator to join our Taste & Nutrition site in Birstwith! This role not only offers a great opportunity to join an exciting quality team and site, but also a competitive salary and benefits!

 

Key responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of quality systems and strategy to deliver continuous improvement and promote a quality improvement culture.
  • Ensure all documents are issued, controlled and filed according to the requirements of the quality system.
  • Assist in the investigation of complaints including the necessary reporting, returned materials evaluation & reporting, communication and corrective actions, as per the site customer complaint procedure.
  • Monitor and ensure the internal audits schedule is adhered too and to raise to the QA manager were noncompliance occurs.
  • Maintenance of site procedures, policies and risk assessment, ensuring they comply with company and Customer requirements and are audited in the factory for compliance.
    Work cross-functionally in root cause analysis and investigations following site and product non-conformances. 
  • Facilitate and lead as appropriate and/or necessary the investigation and resolution of non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are closed out with sustainable resolution in a timely manner and the appropriate evidence provided.
  • Complete KPI’s as required and take part in cross-functional meetings ensuring appropriate Quality representation.

  • Perform routine factory-based food safety and quality standards inspections and audits including (but not an exhaustive list):Mock Product Recalls, Traceability Exercises, Fabrication inspections, GMP, Hygiene Verification audits, Foreign body inspections, layered confirmation audits, logging all non-conformances.
  • Provide guidance, education and support to the department being audited to enable them to self-inspect and ensure they understand the standards required.
  • Be a member of the HACCP Team to ensure system development and compliant to Kerry Group Code of Practices and other prevailing standards.
  • Provision of information to customers in a timely and efficient manner (COA, self-audit questionnaires , reports, general enquiries, technical documentation etc).
  • Liaison with the central recipe technical control functions including the preparation of factory process specifications.
Qualifications and skills
  • Diploma or Higher in a Food Science related subject.
  • Minimum 2 years Food industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the BRC Standard, specific customer standards and how they apply
  • Appropriate qualification & knowledge in auditing, HACCP, training, and food safety/hygiene.
  • PC & administrative skills including Microsoft (Excel/Word/Powerpoint).
  • Well-developed communication skills – able to present written and verbal reports that are understood by the target audience.
  • Customer focused, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated showing strong self-discipline and a structured approach to practices & improvements.
  • The ability to identify, create local strategy and actively deliver improvements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.
