About the role


Global Pharma & Biotechnology  Strategic Marketing Director

Kerry’s Pharma and Biotechnology business charts new territories to create a healthier world. We research, develop and promote technologies, which are used in the development of innovative medicines, vaccines and diagnostic assays. The Global Pharma & Biotechnology Strategic Marketing Director will have responsibility for effective, strategic marketing for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology business, which encompasses leading our product and market strategy, positioning and execution of marketing initiatives to achieve long term growth.

What would you do?


  • Lead the development of marketing strategies for the Pharma business, preparing strategic marketing plans with clear tactics and KPIs, which drive accelerated growth
  • Lead the positioning strategy for our pharma business and oversee external and internal communications
  • Lead the creation & management of the annual marketing plan & calendar of internal/external promotions and campaigns
  • Champion the identification and the use of insights  to inform the strategy, business engagement, creative end to end execution and operational delivery of all initiatives.  
  • Partner with product management and R&D on the development and commercialization of new pharma technology innovations - including the development of brand positioning, sales collateral, and communication materials.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate market sizing, informing our business performance and potential for growth.
  • Generate innovative campaigns and initiatives to promote our portfolio across all aspects of the customer journey, including both off and online.
  • Support the identification of new business growth opportunities, through acquisition and strategic partnerships. Lead marketing integration to ensure we realize the full value of new growth opportunities.
  • Partner with product management to ensure robust business and competitor intelligence
  • Manage a team of marketers, with responsibility for managing our overall pharma marketing and communication strategies and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the commercial vice president and leadership team to monitor progress, success and advise on future opportunities.

Qualifications and skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Science or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in B2B Marketing, in the pharma industry
  • Ability to collaborate with multifunctional teams and engage audience with an aligned brand vision and strategy.
  • Analytical skills with ability to turn market data insights into strategic actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management / facilitation skills with a track record of operating effectively in a matrixed/cross-functional environment
  • Strategic "Subject Matter Expert" with strong commercial and technical acumen.
  • Highly effective at bringing together market intelligence to lead development of business strategies.
  • Possess excellent leadership and communication skills - credible at senior level and able to facilitate and collaborate across a diverse stakeholder base.
  • Availability to travel 20% of time
