Where You'll Work:

 

Our the Kerry, Beloit, WI location is home to our Corporate Headquarters for the North American Region. This location has approximately 700 employees at this location that in roles such as regulatory, RD&A, finance, procurement, supply chain and customer care. It is easily commutable from the Rockford, Madison, and Milwaukee areas. What You'll Do:

 

The Sensory Technician is responsible for helping set up and execute of all types of sensory tests. This role provides exposure to a wide range of sensory methods that are available to assist the RD&A Scientist in making great tasting products. You'll interact with diverse scientists, internal and external customers. This opportunity includes learning EyeQuestion software to generate ballots, taking descriptive panel notes, conducting ongoing screening and training for new hires, preparing materials for both the trained Descriptive panel and internal Sensory testing. The day-to-day activities include coding cups for all projects, assisting with lab maintenance, preparing and portioning samples, sanitizing the kitchens, serving samples, etc.

 

You'll assist the scientists with panel set-up, test execution and other duties which may be specific to the test being conducted. As you grow with Kerry, you'll take on more responsibilities and independently set up and run a project with guidance (e.g., DA panel prep, routine Sensory projects, Discrimination testing, etc.). 

What You'll Need to Succeed:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent (advanced classes in a science-related field are a plus)
  • Proficiencytcy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to create and modify documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Consistently follow directions and work independently.
  • Effective communication and willingness to ask questions, investigate, and follow up.
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Comfort level safely preparing baked, fried, or grilled products.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to accurately measure and record data.
  • Willingness to taste and smell chemicals, flavors, and food products.
  • Able to stand for extended periods in a laboratory setting.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
