About the role
As a Senior Scientist in Snack Seasonings, you will be responsible for leading the development of innovative seasoning solutions for snack applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-driven projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with Kerry’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Design and conduct research and development of new snack seasoning products.
- Formulate taste-forward solutions using Kerry technologies within customer and regulatory standards.
- Lead technical project execution, including benchtop development, pilot trials, and plant scale-ups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, and Operations.
- Engage directly with customers through presentations, technical discussions, and troubleshooting.
- Support manufacturing with commercialization, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in snack or flavor development.
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, sensory science, microbiology, and food processing.
- Proven track record in product development from concept to commercialization.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
Preferred Skills - Experience with seasoning systems for meat or snack applications.
- Familiarity with statistical process control and experimental design.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and labeling for food products.
The typical hiring range for this role is $91,311 to $149,080 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
