About the role

Kerry is seeking a Research, Development and Application Scientist for a key role supporting the growth of the Cell Nutrition market. Reporting to the Pharma RD&A Director, this position is responsible for executing on the business strategy by creating market relevant and differentiated products that meet the requirements of customers and consumers, utilizing Kerry’s broad and industry leading portfolio of technologies. This role is part of a team of RD&A Scientists and Technologists that are responsible for the development of cell culture and fermentation solutions. Strong communication skills are critical as the day-to-day activities involve cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Business Development, Marketing, etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Project execution, as part of a diverse Cell Nutrition team, for new product, process and technology development programs.
  • Responsible for definition of tasks, experimental planning and execution, data analysis, documentation, reporting and preparation of technical recommendations.
  • Perform literature searches related to products under development.
  • Work with Technical Services and customers to provide R&D support on technical issues.
  • Demonstrate integrity, credibility and positivity, and motivate others to do the same.
  • Continuously grow and adapt in a dynamic environment serving a fast-moving field.

Qualifications and skills

  • MSc/PhD in Biology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience on cell culture, fermentation, bioprocess development or related.
  • Product development or customer project execution experience.
  • Bioreactor operation and Design-of-Experiment experience is a plus.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to push creative boundaries.
  • Strong team-player, with excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills.
