About the role
The role of the Sr. Scientist is to provide leadership to Kerry and the Pillar function as the SME for the core product foundational technology and global market clearance strategy. The Senior scientist may serve as a mentor to Scientist in addressing more complex topics as well as deputy to the Pillar Lead. The Scientist will also be the primary contact for supporting GBS centers with complex customer questions regarding the core products as well as draft relevant statements for review by Sr. Scientist to support commercialization. The Scientist will play a supporting role providing data input for internal ICT systems used to maintain product data.

Key responsibilities
- External engagement- Participates in the Horizon Scanning & Issue Management process. Monitors and interprets trade activity, legal database, regulatory subscriptions, and authority reference materials to stay abreast of emerging issues, prepares briefings and other relative content for outlined deliverables.
- Strategic Business Partner- Demonstrated ability to write and coordinate submissions for International Health Authorities. Works with the Product management, Marketing and Business development teams to support the development a comprehensive regulatory strategy for success of the project/development. Research ingredients for approval and use status in the application and country requested; manages these strategies and consultant work as needed.
- Innovation & Ideation- Support the R&D team of scientists to provide regulatory expertise and advisement on ingredients (are they approved for use in application), on claims, and certifications throughout the development team process. Keep abreast of the latest development of relevant industry regulations and regulatory trends across the region and share with relevant stakeholders.
- Customer Engagement- Proactively business partnering with EUM on specific customer opportunities, strategic customer engagements including customer presentations. Training of Regulatory colleagues & other functions as required.

Qualifications and skills
Education |
BSc in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Toxicology or equivalent as minimum. Additional qualifications is advantageous |

Technical |
4-8 years experience in regulatory/technical role in food or drug industry |

Excellent oral and written communication skills through different levels in the organization. General knowledge of International Trade Associations, Ability to clearly articulate changes in the regulatory landscape that may impact the business to senior management. Good presentation and interpersonal skills develop and implement projects, work with minimal direction, report results in a conscience manner. Problem solver, solution seeker, contribute workable creative ideas, interact with other groups within Kerry and when necessary, with external stakeholders |
